Building the Center of the Future

A permanent workshop for making, skilling and enterprise — so that what happens at a camp does not have to end when the camp does.
The concept

The other fifty-one weeks

A camp is a spike. It proves the demand, produces the objects and finds the people — and then everyone goes home. The Center of the Future is the answer to what happens next.

The plan is a permanent, equipped space where young innovators can keep building after they have been discovered: benches and tools, working connectivity, components that do not have to be salvaged, and mentors on a schedule rather than for a weekend. It is the infrastructure the camps keep proving is missing.
Status — concept stage. Location, scale, capital cost and timeline are all still to be defined; this page describes intent, not a commitment.
What it will house

One space per pillar

The building is organised around the same four thematic areas the programmes are.
01

A digital lab

Machines, connectivity and the space to learn on them without booking a slot.
The pillar
02

A making floor

Benches, tools and a components store, so a prototype is not limited by salvage.
The pillar
03

An enterprise room

Somewhere to cost an idea, meet a buyer and run the first small orders.
The pillar
04

A community hall

Exhibitions, judging and the moment when the village sees the work.

How to support it

Talk to us early

This is the project where an early conversation changes the design. Capital partners, equipment partners and long-term programme funders all shape what gets built.

Capital support towards the space itself
Equipment and tooling, new or refurbished
Connectivity and power
Programme funding for the staff who keep it open
Long-term mentorship commitments
Two doors, one story

Back the camp, or bring a young innovator to it.
